Meet your genial host

Sylvia Gonzalez became a bed and breakfast host after her two daughters departed the house to seek their fortune abroad.
Being retired after a long and successful career of 46 years in Education, which began at the lowest rungs of the ladder and she ended near the top, as School Supervisor II in an educational district. There she was responsible for the administration of 65 primary schools.

On her way up she graduated with distinction at Teachers' College, and went on scholarships to two universities, obtaining training and qualification in Education. She also almost single-handedly established the Government's pre-school programme, and moved on to teacher education and later school supervision.

Sylvia is the author of two books: The Starting Point (1976), a handbook for pre-school teachers, and Steelband Saga (1978), story of the early steelband for children.

Sylvia now finds great pleasure, utilising the person skills she developed in her long career. Being a great cook as well as householder, she sets the comfort tone for her guests, fortifying them with a sumptuous breakfast spiced with herbs, which she grows for herself.

She personifies the motto of Sapphire House: Your comfort is our pleasure.

Accommodation: 4 cool bedrooms with fans, a/c not necessary.
Room One - The green room, private bath and entrance, two sizable single beds
Room two - The garden room, private bath and entrance, two sizable single beds
Room three - A double-bed in this room, suitable for a couple
Room four - A double-bed in this room, suitable for a couple
Rooms three and four share a bathroom.
Cable TV in all rooms.
